They served as national counsel, trial counsel, and appellate counsel for Fortune 100 companies and their insurers. As defense lawyers, they tried cases to verdict, handled complex appeals at the state and federal levels, and advised C-suite leaders, risk managers, and claims executives on best practices for investigating, defending, and valuing claims.  They know how industry and defense counsel think—and what they fear.

Profiled in The AmLaw Litigation Daily for their ingenuity and thought leadership in tort litigation, Johnny and Shane are the recipients of numerous accolades. In 2023, they received “Legal Innovator” Awards from ALM/Law.Com for their work co-founding and launching DataGavel, a first-of-its-kind data analytics platform for tort litigation. They built DataGavel in 2019 and sold it in 2025.
